As Sales Director Private Label Germany, you will play a pivotal role in the European growth strategy. You will be responsible for defining and implementing key account strategies aligned with a broader private label vision, while taking full ownership of the German commercial performance.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be responsible for managing and growing existing relationships with major retailers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving cross-category sales. You'll also ensure operational excellence through close collaboration with supply chain, R&D, and project management.
In this role, you will lead a small but impactful commercial team (Junior KAM and KAM), report directly to the European General Manager Private Label (Netherlands), and become an integral part of the German management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute key account strategies aligned with the European and global Ambient private label vision.
- Take full responsibility for the end-to-end P&L, driving both top-line and bottom-line growth.
- Drive commercial excellence across German based buying offices. Lead initiatives to penetrate new accounts, grow cross-category sales, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with demand planning and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations through the S&OP process.
- Work closely with Project Management, R&D and compliance to support customer development and new product initiatives.
- Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative team across multiple countries, fostering a positive and engaging work culture.
- Monitor competitor activity and sustainability trends, sharing insights across teams.

Candidate
We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced commercial leader with a solid track record in FMCG and private label sales. You are analytical, entrepreneurial, and know how to build strong relationships and high-performing teams.
- Proven track record in FMCG Sales, negotiation with top-tier retailers. retailers and strategic business planning with private label experience.
- Proven track record in managing complex P&L responsibilities, developing strategic key accounts, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in forecasting, pricing, strategy, and financial risk mitigation
- Deep understanding of the German retail landscape, preferably in seafood, canned food, or commodities.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and launching new products.
- Strong communication skills and business fluency in German and English.
- Resident in the Hamburg regio[NH1] n, or willing to relocate for four days a week
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders within an international environment.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to foster cross-functional and cross-country collaboration.
- Winning and hands-on mentality, able to overcome difficult situations with a solution-based mindset
